Website Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of BatteryInstallation.ie (the “Website”).

The Website is operated by Watt Works, 6–9 Trinity Street, Dublin 2, Ireland. Email: info@batteryinstallation.ie.

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the Website.

2. Purpose of the Website

BatteryInstallation.ie provides information and services relating to solar PV systems, battery storage, battery installation and upgrades, inverter upgrades, monitoring, system support, maintenance, electricity tariffs, energy management and related technologies.

The Website may also provide calculators, estimators, compatibility checkers, diagnostic tools, fault and error-code information, battery-sizing tools and other interactive resources.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, information and results provided through the Website are intended as general information and preliminary guidance only. They do not constitute a site-specific electrical design, engineering assessment, financial advice, energy-supply advice or a guarantee that a particular product or solution is suitable for a particular property or electrical system.

3. Calculators, Estimators and Interactive Tools

BatteryInstallation.ie may provide tools including, but not limited to:

  • battery sizing calculators;
  • battery savings calculators;
  • night-rate charging calculators;
  • electricity tariff comparison or optimisation tools;
  • solar and battery savings estimators;
  • payback and return-on-investment calculations;
  • backup runtime estimators;
  • battery compatibility checkers;
  • fault diagnostic or triage tools;
  • error-code databases;
  • commercial energy or peak-shaving calculators; and
  • other energy-related calculators or decision-support tools.

Important: Outputs generated by these tools are estimates and indicative results only. They should not be regarded as quotations, guarantees, promises of savings, engineering calculations, financial advice, electrical designs or definitive confirmation that equipment is suitable or compatible.

4. Calculator Assumptions

Calculator results may depend upon assumptions or user-supplied information concerning matters including electricity consumption; day, night and peak electricity rates; dynamic tariffs; export rates; solar generation; property location; roof orientation; battery capacity; usable battery capacity; depth of discharge; charge and discharge rates; round-trip efficiency; system losses; battery degradation; number of cycles; household consumption patterns; EV or heat-pump consumption; weather; solar irradiation; equipment efficiency; and other technical or economic variables.

Actual circumstances may differ substantially from the assumptions used. A calculator result should therefore not be interpreted as a guaranteed financial or technical outcome.

5. Information Entered by Users

The accuracy of an output depends partly on the accuracy of the information entered. You are responsible for checking that information you enter into a calculator, compatibility checker or other tool is accurate and reasonably representative of your circumstances.

Watt Works is not responsible for an inaccurate or misleading output to the extent that it results from incorrect, incomplete, outdated or inappropriate information supplied by the user.

6. Savings, Payback and Return-on-Investment Estimates

Any estimated electricity saving, annual saving, battery saving, solar saving, payback period, return on investment, grid-arbitrage saving, import reduction, export income, lifetime saving or similar financial figure displayed on BatteryInstallation.ie is a projection rather than a guaranteed outcome.

Actual results may be higher or lower. Electricity prices, tariff structures, export payments, government supports, grants, taxation, household behaviour, solar generation, equipment performance and other factors can change over time.

Watt Works cannot guarantee future electricity prices, export rates, tariff structures, grants or government policies. You should not make a significant financial commitment solely on the basis of an online calculator result.

7. Electricity Tariffs and Energy Prices

Electricity tariffs and export rates displayed on the Website may originate from energy suppliers or other third parties. Tariffs may change at short notice and may be subject to eligibility requirements, standing charges, smart-meter requirements, contract conditions, time periods or other terms.

Although reasonable efforts may be made to keep tariff information current, Watt Works does not guarantee that every tariff, price or supplier condition displayed on the Website is complete or current at the time you view it. You should verify the applicable tariff directly with the relevant energy supplier before making a decision.

8. Battery Compatibility Tools

A result generated by a battery compatibility checker is preliminary guidance only. Compatibility may depend upon exact inverter model, battery model, hardware revision, firmware, communication protocols, battery management system, existing installation configuration, electrical configuration, age and condition of equipment, manufacturer restrictions, warranty requirements, grid-connection requirements and subsequent manufacturer updates.

A result indicating that equipment appears compatible does not constitute a guarantee that it can be installed at a particular property. Final compatibility may require inspection and verification by a suitably competent installer or technician.

9. Fault, Diagnostic and Error-Code Information

BatteryInstallation.ie may provide information about battery, inverter, solar PV and monitoring-system faults, symptoms and manufacturer error codes. This information is intended to assist users in understanding possible causes of an issue. It is not a definitive diagnosis.

The same fault code or symptom may have several different causes. Users should not open electrical equipment, remove protective covers, interfere with wiring, alter protected settings or undertake electrical repairs solely because a Website tool or article suggests a possible solution.

Work requiring electrical competence should be undertaken by an appropriately qualified person. Where there is any indication of fire, overheating, burning, damaged electrical equipment, exposed wiring or another potentially dangerous condition, users should not rely on the Website as a substitute for appropriate emergency or professional assistance.

10. Manufacturer and Third-Party Information

BatteryInstallation.ie may contain information relating to products and systems manufactured or supplied by third parties. Product specifications, compatibility information, warranties, error codes, firmware, software, mobile applications and manufacturer requirements may change without notice.

Watt Works does not control those changes. While reasonable efforts may be made to provide useful and accurate information, Watt Works does not warrant that third-party technical information will remain complete or current indefinitely. Manufacturer documentation and requirements should be checked where a decision depends upon a particular technical specification.

11. Monitoring Platforms and Manufacturer Apps

Solar and battery systems may rely upon manufacturer applications, cloud services, APIs, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, mobile applications or third-party monitoring infrastructure. Watt Works does not control the continuing availability, functionality or operation of third-party platforms.

Changes to manufacturer applications, servers, firmware, account procedures or cloud services may affect monitoring functionality.

12. Website Availability

We may update, modify, suspend or withdraw any part of the Website or any calculator or tool without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

13. No Professional or Financial Advice

Nothing on BatteryInstallation.ie constitutes investment, tax, legal or regulated financial advice. Where appropriate, users should obtain advice relevant to their individual circumstances.

14. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Website’s original text, layout, graphics, databases, calculator methodologies, software, tools and other original content are owned by or licensed to Watt Works.

You may use the Website for personal and legitimate business evaluation purposes. You may not systematically copy, scrape, reproduce, republish, reverse engineer or commercially exploit our Website, calculators, databases or proprietary content without permission, except where permitted by law.

Third-party names, trademarks and product names remain the property of their respective owners.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Watt Works shall not be liable for loss arising solely from reliance on an indicative calculator, estimator, compatibility checker, diagnostic tool or informational Website output where the loss results from inaccurate user inputs, stated assumptions, changes in third-party information or circumstances outside Watt Works’ reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms affects a consumer’s mandatory statutory rights.

16. Links to Other Websites

The Website may link to manufacturers, energy suppliers, government bodies and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the availability, content, security, privacy practices or accuracy of third-party websites.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be published on this page together with its latest update date.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of any mandatory protection or right available under applicable law.
