Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
1. About Us
These Terms & Conditions apply to services and products supplied by Watt Works, operator of BatteryInstallation.ie.
Watt Works
6–9 Trinity Street
Dublin 2
Ireland
Email: info@batteryinstallation.ie
These Terms should be read together with any quotation, proposal, order confirmation or service agreement issued to the customer. Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
2. Our Services
Depending upon the customer’s order, our services may include battery installation and replacement; additional battery capacity; solar PV and battery upgrades; inverter replacement or upgrades; AC-coupled battery systems; backup/EPS systems; system monitoring; monitoring account setup or transfer; Wi-Fi and connectivity assistance; fault investigation; maintenance; technical assessments; compatibility assessments; and associated electrical or energy services.
The precise scope of work will be specified in the applicable quotation, proposal or order.
3. Quotations
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quotation is based upon the information available to us when it is prepared. This may include information, photographs, bills, equipment details or other information supplied by the customer.
A quotation may be subject to confirmation following site inspection or further technical assessment. If circumstances materially differ from the information originally supplied, we may discuss a revised scope or price with the customer before undertaking additional work.
4. Customer Information
Customers should provide accurate information relevant to the proposed work. This can include details of existing solar panels, inverter, batteries, meter, electrical installation, consumer unit, internet/Wi-Fi, monitoring account, equipment location and previous modifications.
We are not responsible for additional work or delay caused by materially inaccurate or incomplete information that could not reasonably have been identified before attending the property.
5. Existing Solar and Battery Systems
Work on an existing installation can differ from work on a new installation. Existing equipment may have been installed by another contractor and may contain defects, non-standard wiring, undocumented alterations, outdated firmware or equipment that does not comply with current manufacturer requirements.
Our agreement to inspect, repair, extend or modify an existing system does not constitute acceptance of responsibility for the original installation or for pre-existing defects.
6. Compatibility
Compatibility assessments performed before installation are based upon the information reasonably available at that time. Final compatibility can depend on exact equipment models, firmware, electrical configuration, communication protocols and manufacturer requirements.
If previously undisclosed circumstances mean the proposed equipment cannot reasonably be installed as originally planned, we will discuss appropriate alternatives with the customer.
7. Site Access
The customer must provide reasonable and safe access to areas required to perform the agreed work, including where relevant the inverter and battery locations, meter and consumer unit, attic, roof or external areas, Wi-Fi/router and other relevant electrical equipment.
We may postpone work where conditions are unsafe or where necessary access is unavailable.
8. Installation Dates
Any installation or attendance date is given in good faith. Dates may need to change because of weather, equipment availability, illness, grid or utility requirements, technical issues, access difficulties or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a delay occurs, we will seek to arrange a replacement date within a reasonable period.
9. Additional Work
If additional work becomes necessary because of circumstances that were not reasonably apparent from the original information or assessment, we will explain the issue before carrying out material additional chargeable work wherever reasonably practicable.
Examples may include defective existing wiring, incompatible equipment, unexpected electrical modifications, inadequate access or pre-existing faults.
10. Prices and Payment
The applicable price and payment arrangements will be set out in the quotation, invoice, proposal or order confirmation. Unless expressly included, work outside the agreed scope may be charged separately where authorised or otherwise lawfully chargeable.
11. Deposits
Where a deposit is required, the amount and payment terms will be specified in the quotation or order. Deposits may be used towards equipment procurement, scheduling, administration and other project costs.
Any cancellation and refund rights applying to a consumer remain subject to applicable Irish consumer law and the circumstances in which the contract was concluded.
12. Consumer Cancellation Rights
Where statutory withdrawal rights apply to a distance or off-premises contract, the customer retains those rights. Any statutory right to cancel takes precedence over inconsistent provisions in these Terms.
Where a consumer expressly asks for a service to begin during an applicable withdrawal period, the consumer may be required to pay for services properly supplied before cancellation, to the extent permitted by law.
Cancellation requests may be sent to info@batteryinstallation.ie.
13. Equipment
Where a particular product or model is specified, we will seek to supply that equipment. If specified equipment becomes unavailable, discontinued or materially delayed, we will not substitute materially different equipment without discussing the proposed alternative with the customer.
14. Manufacturer Warranties
Certain products may be supplied with warranties provided by their manufacturer. The scope, duration, exclusions and claims procedures for manufacturer warranties are determined by the relevant manufacturer.
A manufacturer’s warranty is separate from, and does not replace, statutory rights a consumer may have against the trader.
15. Workmanship
Any workmanship warranty expressly included in the customer’s quotation or order applies subject to its stated conditions.
A workmanship warranty does not ordinarily cover faults caused by third-party alterations, misuse, accidental damage, external electrical events, internet/network changes, manufacturer platform failures or defects unrelated to our work. This does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Wi-Fi, Internet and Monitoring
Solar and battery monitoring systems commonly depend upon the customer’s broadband connection, Wi-Fi network, router and third-party manufacturer platforms.
Changes to a router, Wi-Fi password, broadband provider, network configuration or property network can disconnect equipment from online monitoring even though the solar or battery system itself remains operational.
Unless covered by an applicable warranty or service agreement, attendance required solely because of customer network changes, router replacement, Wi-Fi problems or other non-system issues may be chargeable.
17. Manufacturer Apps and Cloud Platforms
Some products require third-party mobile applications, portals or cloud infrastructure. Those services are controlled by their respective providers.
We cannot guarantee that a manufacturer will maintain an application, cloud service, user interface, API, functionality or feature indefinitely. A third-party platform change does not by itself constitute a defect in installation work performed by Watt Works.
18. Monitoring Accounts
Where requested, we may assist with monitoring setup or account transfer. Successful transfer may depend upon cooperation from a previous homeowner, installer, manufacturer or platform provider. We cannot guarantee access to an account controlled by an unrelated third party.
19. Savings and Performance
Important: Solar generation, battery savings, grid import reduction, export income, payback periods and other performance figures may involve projections. Unless a particular performance obligation is expressly included in the customer’s contract, illustrative savings or projections are not guarantees of a particular financial return.
Actual performance depends on circumstances including weather, electricity consumption, tariffs, equipment behaviour, system availability, battery cycling and user behaviour.
20. Electricity Tariffs
We may explain how battery systems can interact with day/night, smart or dynamic electricity tariffs. We do not control energy-supplier pricing. Customers remain responsible for selecting their electricity supplier and tariff.
21. Grants and Incentives
Information concerning grants, incentives, export payments or government programmes is based on information available at the relevant time. Schemes, eligibility rules and payment levels may change.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, Watt Works does not guarantee that a customer will qualify for a particular grant or incentive.
22. Third-Party Work
We are not responsible for defects caused by work subsequently undertaken by another contractor or person outside our control. Where another contractor modifies equipment supplied or installed by us, this may affect the manufacturer’s warranty or our ability to diagnose a later fault.
23. Call-Outs
Where a site visit is requested and investigation establishes that the issue is unrelated to equipment or workmanship for which Watt Works is responsible, a reasonable call-out or diagnostic charge may apply where the customer was informed of the potential charge in advance.
Examples include router or Wi-Fi changes, customer network problems, unrelated property electrical issues and faults caused by third-party modifications.
24. Safety
Customers must not interfere with electrical equipment in a manner contrary to manufacturer instructions or safety requirements. If equipment appears damaged, overheated or unsafe, it should not be opened or dismantled by an unqualified person.
25. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Nothing is intended to remove mandatory consumer remedies.
Subject to those protections and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Watt Works is not responsible for losses caused solely by matters outside its reasonable control, third-party services, inaccurate information supplied by the customer, unauthorised third-party alterations or a customer’s reliance on an expressly identified estimate as though it were a guaranteed result.
26. Complaints
If you believe there is a problem with work undertaken by us, please contact us promptly and provide reasonable details of the issue. We should normally be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, remedy a problem for which we are responsible. This does not restrict any statutory remedy available to a consumer.
27. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We will not be responsible for delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, subject always to applicable consumer law. These may include severe weather, utility or grid delays, supply-chain disruption, manufacturer shortages, telecommunications outages and other comparable events.
28. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Irish law. Nothing in this provision prevents a consumer from exercising mandatory rights available under applicable law.
